Henri-Edmond Cross was born on the 20th of may in 1856 in Douai, France. He died in Saint Clair, in the Var on May 16th, 1910. French pointillist painter.
First a naturalist, he worked with the the neo-impressionists.
He adopts the divisionnism only in 1891 working with Paul Signac, shortly before Georges Seurat's death.
From 1900, he will paint the Provence. His work will influence Henri Matisse and the Fauves painters.
